About Us

Mauli,
Ramkrishna Hari
The current era has become highly dynamic and mechanical. Emotions, values, personal interactions, and conversations have diminished. There is increasing distance among individuals, communities, and societies. The sense of affection within society has disappeared, leading to a certain coldness. Mutual understanding and harmony have reduced. The pursuit of materialistic comforts has eroded empathy. In the race for instant success, patience has been lost. People lack the mindset to deal with challenges effectively, resulting in an increase in suicides and addiction rates.

To overcome these issues, society needs to be well-cultured, composed, disciplined, and mentally and physically strong. It is essential to maintain mental balance, remain steady in all situations, keep a discerning intellect active, and make appropriate decisions. Spiritual support is crucial for achieving this.

In earlier times, temples used to host Haripath and devotional songs in the evenings. People would gather in the serene environment of the temple to discuss their joys and sorrows. This would help them forget their grief, find solutions to their problems, and support one another. As a result, society remained content and stable, and people found renewed enthusiasm for life.

However, with the decline in temple-based Haripath and devotional activities, societal issues have increased. It is necessary to revive these practices, starting with children. Instilling good values in children will benefit them throughout their lives, helping them become capable citizens who contribute to building a stronger India.

Some organizations conduct camps during vacations, but these are often short-term—lasting 15 days to a couple of months—so their impact is limited. Considering these points, a proposal emerged to integrate the teachings of the Warkari Sampradaya with regular schooling. Children will learn the Warkari Sampradaya throughout the year alongside their formal education.

To achieve this, “Volunteers Association for Rational Knowledge and Research Institute” (VARKARI) has established a residential school under the H.B.P. Vaikunthvasi Shri Appaji Maharaj Gurukul Warkari Vidyapeeth at Shri Kshetra Kurha (Bahiram), Tal. Chandur Bazar, Dist. Amravati.

Children are admitted to the local school from the 5th grade. While continuing their formal education from 5th to 10th grade, they also reside at the Gurukul school. Outside school hours, they receive education in the Warkari Sampradaya at the residential school.

At the Gurukul, students are taught hymns, the Geeta, Haripath, Abhangas, Gathas, the biographies of saints, and saintly literature. They also learn Sanskrit and traditional methods of playing instruments such as the mridangam, veena, cymbals, and pawli, all integral to the Warkari Sampradaya.

The program also includes yoga, physical exercise, field and intellectual games, computer education, excursions, cultural gatherings, parent-teacher meetings, and personality development activities to ensure holistic growth.

In summary, children will receive formal education along with the teachings of the Warkari Sampradaya. For six years (5th to 10th grade), they will benefit from both forms of education, helping them become cultured, educated, and capable citizens.

The institution has a well-equipped three-story building. The ground floor houses the office, Annapurna Kitchen, and dining hall. The first floor has a well-furnished hall for teaching the Warkari Sampradaya. The second and third floors are designated for the children’s residence. Each year, 10 children are admitted to the 5th grade, and over six years, a total of 60 students will reside at the school. All education is provided free of charge, and the institution bears all expenses.

The VARKARI organization is located at Kurha (Bahiram) in Chandur Bazar taluka of Amravati district, approximately 12 km from Paratwada on the Paratwada-Kharpi-Karjgaon-Shirjgaon Road, and about 20 km from Chandur Bazar on the Chandur Bazar-Kondwardha-Karjgaon Road.
